I am so excited for waves festival! 5 days – 12 stages – 80 acts! Finally Vienna has a cool festival to offer, especially in a time where most festivals anywhere else in the country are over. I also love the principle: the gigs take place in vienna’s main clubs like the flex, fluc, pratersauna and badeschiff. my highlights are definitely totally enormous extinct dinosaurs and when saints go machine.

IKEA WORKSHOP

last week i was invited to a stitching workshop by ikea. it all took place in one of the appartments, that present a new project called citycom2. there’s 43 appartments that are all set up with 3 to 5 equally large rooms. so they’re made for sharing! people can meet future room mates over facebook or move in with their friends. all the kitchens in those appartments are by ikea. so with loads of good food (cake pops by café schmid hansl!) and the new fabric designs by beckman’s school of design we did some stitching and sewing. luckily the gebrüder stitch and their team were there to help. johanna, my instructor, was really patient (the photos show proof, i am as skilled with sewing as a 5 year old) and helped me create a wonderful detachable collar!

MQ FASHION WEEK DAY 4

my last fashion week post! i know, i was supposed to go and see some shows today as well, but after meeting my MUM (who’s awesome, sorry had to mention it.) at WE BANDITS i decided to skip the annoying fashion week fighting-for-a-good-spot-since-press-can’t-get-in-first-and-can’t-sit-first-row (obviously they are begging for negative critics from the press) and have some beer. also because i am kind of sick seeing austrians d-category-celebrities acting like their faces should be chiseled into mount rushmore or something. anyway: i planned to see more shows yesterday but after the amazing show of maibe, mosstories, dusk till dawn & wonder anatomie the incredible mass of people forced me and the bf to do what we can do best: escape and EAT PIZZA. after the delicious pizza we chilled at modetalking, unfortunately for the last time before the winter break.
since my photos didn’t turn out so well (surprise, surprise since press had to sit almost last row), i mixed them up, did some mirror-fun. makes me feel like i’m on drugs. which i am not. (i am not only writing this because my mum is reading my blog)

and again, a huge post with loads of photos! taking a break from fashion week doesn’t mean taking a break in general, it means doing other stuff that’s even cooler! fashion blogger lunch took place at dachboden, one of the coolest locations in town. after some get to know each other, i took of for we bandits, where i spent some hours escaping fashion week and relaxing in an amazing location with aaaawesome food (check out the cupcakes !!!) and aaaawesome music. we bandits is still in town until sunday, so go and do some great shopping like i did 🙂

oh woah. if i could pick the coolest work space in vienna it would definitely be THE HUB . and if there’s one thing i’d eat for lunch for the rest of my life, it’s 12 munchies cupcakes. alright, maybe i should stop phantasizing about everything this afternoon, but it was indeed a great day with great athmosphere. and maybe it’s the bottle of prosecco speaking, that the bf and i are finishing at the moment. but hey: we gotta get in the mood for the afterparty at studio 67! back to topic: the fashion camp 2011 was a great success, a big compliment to the organizers for the cool day. the goodie bag made me feel like a child on christmas eve, but more about that soon. now more prosecco and more fun. see you at the after party.
