as you might have seen on my instagram, i went back to austria last weekend to be part of the jury of the Kastner & Öhler fashion award. now many of you might not know this name, that represents one of austria’s most beautiful and traditional shopping center chains, which has been celebrating it’s 140th anniversary this year.
the company has been in family hands in the 5th generation by now, which is really rare and impresses me the most, apart from their well selected range of goods. normally i am not the shopping center type of person, but really got into it touring the entire building that was re-renovated a few years back and still contains the typical art elements from it’s first times around 1894. Despite the horrible, horrible weather i had so much fun picking out a winner among the 70 young designers and getting to know the wonderful world of Kastner & Öhler.

yesterday i found out one thing: i need to move away from milan. or get a job that pays me millions. & other stories really killed me –  never had such endorphines entering a store. it’s like someone put all my favorite shops together and put it 10 min. away from my house. geez, first world problems.

when there’s karl lagerfeld, vanessa paradis and anna dello russo in the same room with you, watching james blake perform live, it must be one thing: a chanel party. the exhibition, which we saw before moving on to the incredible party location, features 113 photographs of celebrities in black jackets taken by karl lagefeld in cooperation with carine roitfeld. thank you chanel for the incredible night, which i will never forget.

chanel’s little black jacket will be honoring milan from april 6th to 20th, the entrance is free.

before showing you a little more about the chanel little black jacket opening in milan yesterday, which has been the best party in milan so far, here’s what we wore last night. i decided to go with some brighter colors, as i knew most people would wear black. the boyfriend / photographer never wears a suit, but damn he pulls it off well.

C&A REIMAGINE

as promised the first photos of the C&A reimagine event in madrid. one city, two days, one night, eight designers, twenty bloggers and journalists. c&a invited us to madrid to introduce their “reimagine” campaign to us. they invited eight designers from eight countries to reinvent everyday objects such as forks, knifes, cups etc. (those creations will be used as a window decoration in c&a’s biggest stores). 

after taking the early flight and settling at the amazing hotel, we got to know the designers and their creations while sipping champaign and some snacks. after we enjoyed a little tour of madrid, which i will tell you about in a different post. the day ended with a lovely dinner, i personally skipped the party, since i was quite tired out and wanted to be fit for the next day. even though, to be frank, c&a was not a company i had any relation to in the first place, i was really amazed by the whole project and the idea of sustainability behind it.
