MY CORSICA PHOTO DIARY

BE AWARE! MASSIVE PICTURE OVERLOAD!! Sorry guys but I really couldn’t make a smaller selection. I feel so overwhelmed by the beauty I have seen an experienced the past two weeks that I want to share it with all of you!The boy and I took a roadtrip through Corisca (we really did drove all over the island), slept in a tent and believe it or not I am the first one to enjoy not having internet, no laptop, putting on no make-up, waking up in a tent every day and cooking our own meals on the gas oven. It just makes me feel so close to nature and reminds me how simple humanity used to be and that sometimes having less choices and living as simple as possible is the thing that makes you the happiest.
For all of you interested in the places we saw: we took corsica ferries from savona in italy to bastia, which is on the east side of the island. from there we headed south to porto vecchio, bonifacio, corte (which is inland), calvi, st florent and galeria. most places are super close but since there’s very simple streets we mostly drove an average of 50km/h.
And if you’re planing to go, here’s my very personal corsica guide with corsica’s top 10 must do’s:
1. Kayaking on the beach of Golf de Spérone (if you liked the photos with the crystal clear water – that’s where you wanna go!)
2. Fango Valley (a river with loads of natural pools, in the middle of the mountains)
3. Sant’Antonino (on the top of a mountain with a 360° view this little town is a true treasure)
4. Cocktails at Chez Tao in Calvi (thanks to my reader Clara for the tip!)
5. Dinner at U Minellu in Calvi
6. Hike to Piscia di Gallu waterfall
7. Plage D’Alga in Calvi (one of the most hidden and most beautiful beaches I have ever seen)
8. Palombaggia beach
9. Drive the coast from Calvi to Galeria (will take you forever but the view is breathtaking)
10. Don’t sleep in a fancy, gated hotel – go camping, save money, meet people from all over the world and best: play cards and drink beers every night.
(thanks to sony for the dsc wx300 camera with which i took all these pictures)
