So yesterday we stayed in, drank two bottles of wine and looked at artwork. Really relaxing and inspiring evening. But today: what a great day! Went to Chinatown, went shopping in Wickerpark, checked out thriftstores and got a haircut! I had to go crazy at UO again… of course. Right now we’re getting ready to go out in boystown. I love Chicago so much and I still have so many more photos to show you!

…with Mona. Mona is a french bulldog and I am honestly in love with her. Mona lives with Nick, who’s basically my brother and an amazing artist. So here I am, in Chicago, in a great little studio and I get to hang out with Mona and Nick all day! Also one of my necklaces from Etsy arrived and it’s just beautiful.
I have always been obsessed with the beige and black combination. It looks so natural but accentuated to me! What I’ve also been obsessed lately are those rings I got. They’re both vintage pieces, so they were super cheap. I’d love to get the YSL arty ring, but for now I am good with the less expensive versions 🙂
So yesterday I was a soccer mum, driving around three kids in a van, getting ice cream and fooling around. I love it. Today I’ll drive the big van again, shop around Zionsville, but mainly relax with my “family” here.

You know how I told you in my previous post that I went to Broad Ripple Village on my first day in Indianapolis. I’ve been to this area four years ago but perceived it very different this time. It’s one of the six cultural districts of Indianapolis. Basically Broad Ripple is the heart of Indys music, art and night scene. There’s loads of cute cafés, bars and little shops. We checked out Broad Ripple Vintage, which is a very funky and well organized second hand store. I got the coolest, red IU sweater! More about it in a different post though 🙂 Then we checked out a cool independent record store called Indy CD and Vinyl, which has been located in Broad Ripple for 10 years, but is originally from Utah. It’s that kind of store you won’t find often, because people stop buying CD’s and vinyls. Christian got himself a nice CD by a gypsy swing artist, forgot his name… ooops. Last but not least we had dinner at Yats, a cajun creole Restaurant. Each dish is $5,50 and I tried a DELICIOUS vegan tofu white chili. With full stomachs we went home, where I got really scared because of tornado warnings and fled the 19th story, to hang out in the lobby downstairs and wait it out. I am such a baby, I know.
So I am enjoying american college life, especially now that it’s “Little 5” week, one of the biggest party weeks. Some of you might know the “Indy 500”, which is this race taking place in Indianapolis every year. Well here at IU, they have a bike race and the whole week until the mens race on saturday, which has been taking place for a couple of centuries now, is a prep week with big parties going on. So on friday we went and saw the womens race, which was pretty cool. We had great lunch before that, I tried sweet potato fries for the first time and fell in love with them! At night we went to Tallent, the best restaurant in Bloomington and had a great dinner, well actually just appetizers and some wine, since we didn’t win the lottery 🙂
Aaaalso I did some shopping at Urban Outfitters! They’re store in Bloomington isn’t that cool, but I got some sweet jewellery, a lumberjack shirt on sale for only 9$ and second hand levis shorts for only 28$! Yee-ha!
